
This song was the first single from U2s debut album, 'Boy.' It was the first recording U2 made with Steve Lillywhite, who worked on 'Boy, 'October', 'War', and 'How to. Neither will any of the covers U2 have made be included, see the policy for contributions for an explanation of why. The only sensible solution to the problem is to build a site that focus on what has been said about what the songs are about. But at the same time, U2 do have a message in their music and if the listener isn’t aware of what the song is about, so very much of the music is lost.


The problem is that the meaning is usually far from obvious and the understanding of the song isn’t helped by the fact that Bono is patently obscure when asked what the songs are about.

A song that’s, at the first time, sound like an love song, doesn’t need to be about love. The classic song 'I Will Follow' appears first on the French version of the 7', making it less valuable to a collector because of the absence of the obscure. Its important because it is technically the first single from U2s first album. Every time you hear any of U2’s songs, you can be assured that it have some deeper meaning. This single is U2s fourth and was released three months in advance of the bands 1980 debut album Boy.
